AIKIDO OF LIVERMORE - SHINREI DOJO

Aikido of Livermore - Shinrei Dojo was established in 1989 and is the oldest Aikido dojo in the Tri-Valley area. We are a traditional Japanese martial arts dojo and offer instruction in Aikido and Toyama Ryu Battodo. Our chief instructor Jim Alvarez Sensei, as well as the assistant instructors, are dedicated to providing the very best instruction, giving personal attention to each student. We offer experienced, safe, and serious instruction for men and women at all ages and levels. While we are serious about practical defense, our training is focused on cultivating mindfulness, composure, and calmness through martial arts training and using those lessons to create positive outcomes for every-day conflicts — at home, at work, and in society.

We also offer our Martial Arts for Kids program for kids 9-15 years old.

Please check the Schedule page for information regarding class times. Please feel free to visit us at anytime during scheduled class hours or you may contact us if you have any questions about our dojo or the classes we offer.

Aikido of Livermore - Shinrei Dojo is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to help us to continue to provide quality martial arts instruction to our community.  Donate through PayPal

COVID-19 Safety Is Important To Us

We are working hard to protect the health of our members and students, while still providing a place for our dojo community to stay connected, to study, and to practice at a level that is appropriate for the current conditions outlined by the CDC. We intend to maintain a long-term balance between supporting our members who wish to train conscientiously inside the dojo, and those who want to keep a more conservative risk strategy by participating only remotely. We follow the current Alameda County masking guidelines and you may choose to wear one or not inside the dojo. We also require all members to be fully vaccinated and boosted to attend classes inside the dojo.

You Are Welcome Here

No matter your race, color, gender, identity, religion, nationality, experience level, or age, you will find a new family here. We strive to create an environment where each member is recognized based on their personal growth, effort and contribution, and to foster a community that is inclusive and reflective of our diverse society. Your voice will be heard, you will be safe, you will be offered respect, and be promoted fairly and impartially. You will be given the opportunity to learn and grow. We hope you will join our community and help make it stronger.
